"Can you even?" is a phrase I've heard used by both young and old many times. But can you imagine what it must have been like for Adam and Eve the very first time they woke up from sleep?
Each morning, waking up to a stunning garden, free of weeds and blemishes, symbolizing creation in harmony and peace without chaos. One word comes to mind: WOW! They would walk with the Lord in the garden during the cool of the day. It was an undeniably glorious experience they looked forward to every morning!
Cat Stevens set to music the lyrics by Eleanor Farjeon, who likely shared the same feelings when she wrote the words to this world-renowned hymn.
“Morning has broken like the first morning;
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the Morning!
Praise for them, springing fresh from the Word!
Sweet the rain’s new fall sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dew-fall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Spring in completeness where his feet pass.
Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation, praise every morning,
God’s recreation of the new day!”
Today, we may not wake up to a perfect, flawless world with all its faults and issues. However, God has awakened us as His own to a “brand-new day” to walk and talk with Him throughout. I don’t know what you're experiencing right now, but everyone faces challenges. Instead of taking our struggles out on each other, let’s bring them to the Lord in prayer.
Remember that He is both the Creator and our loving Heavenly Father. No matter what challenges we face, He has the power to create something new for us and through us. Let’s honor Him today and trust in His guidance as we go through this day!
He is Able,
Gene
