The story recounts a young mother who was home alone with her preschool kids for a week while her husband was away on business. By the fourth day, she was particularly exhausted, and after reading several bedtime stories, she finally managed to get the children to sleep.
She decided to treat herself, so she put on an old pair of sweatpants and started shampooing her hair when she heard children jumping from the bedroom.
Wrapping a towel around her wet hair, she went to scold the kids. As she left the room, she overheard one of the children ask, “Who was that?”
Amid our busy lives, we frequently overlook God's presence. We become so absorbed in our tasks that we often miss His voice of correction, guidance, and grace.
Have you ever asked yourself, “Who was that?” only to realize later it was indeed God? Oh, how much He desires us to know Him so well that we instantly recognize His voice and obey His commands.
The best way for us to recognize His voice is through an intimate relationship with Him. Therefore, dedicate time to reading His word and listening for that still, small voice guiding you.
John 10:4—“When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.”
Seeking to listen to His voice,
Gene
