Good Lord’s Day morning to you,

Today, let’s reflect on having confidence in God’s character. In 1 Kings 3:9, we read: “Give your servant, therefore, an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to govern this your great people?”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all of our presidents made the same request to God that King Solomon did? I believe that if they did, our divisions and hatred for opposing political parties might come to an end—but maybe that’s just my opinion. Oh, come on, don’t pretend you haven’t disliked the president you didn’t vote for. But I digress.

Today, I don’t know what challenges you are facing in your life, but regardless of whether the outcome is what you want or not, God is still a wonderfully good God. I recently came across a quote that I've placed at the front of my Bible alongside other quotes I cherish. I don’t know the author, but they clearly understood the character of our God and had great confidence in Him:

“A believer who walks with God will always reach their destination.”

How is your journey going? You might be facing a challenging path right now, but trust me, as His child, you will ultimately reach the destination that He has planned for you. This journey will help you become more like His Son, Jesus.

I conclude with the words of the apostle Paul to the believers in Corinth: “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast (having confidence in), and immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

Here’s to your journey of faith,
