Genesis begins with: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). He didn't just create a functional world; He designed one with majestic mountains, vibrant colors, and complex life. God made humans in his image, embedding a part of his creative spirit in us (Genesis 1:27).

Your creativity, whether through art, problem-solving, teaching, or leadership, reflects God's character and is a gift for His purposes. The Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25 reminds us to be good stewards, not to hide our gifts out of fear. The Holy Spirit empowers us with wisdom and skill, like Bezalel and Oholiab in Exodus (i.e., they built the tabernacle in the wilderness where God dwelt), to use our talents for the common good and God's glory.

Today, remember you are a creator made in God's image. View your work—at the office, home, or on personal projects—not as a chore but as worship. Seek the Holy Spirit's guidance and dedicate your efforts to God. Let your work share God's beauty and love.

Heavenly Father, thank you for creating me in your image and for the gift of creativity. Forgive me for neglecting or misusing my gifts. Control me with your Holy Spirit and guide me. Help me steward my talents so all I create honors you. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Fearfully and Wonderfully made,

Gene
